Before a Single Line of Code: Our
Consulting-First Approach

September 14, 2026

Most ERP projects are decided long before anyone notices — not at go-live, but at the very beginning, when a system is chosen and configured around assumptions instead of evidence. A platform gets purchased because it worked for someone else. Modules get switched on because they came in the box. And months later, the business is wrestling software that was never shaped around how it actually operates.

At Infosoft, we refuse to start there. Technology is only half the solution; the other half is understanding the business it is meant to serve. That is why every engagement begins not with software, but with consulting.

Understand the business before the system

Before we recommend a single module, we sit down with your leadership and your operators to map how your organization truly runs. Where do hours disappear into manual rework? Where do decisions stall because the data is late, incomplete, or scattered across departments? Which processes are genuinely core to your business, and which are simply the way things have always been done? These questions rarely have obvious answers, and they are almost never captured in an off-the-shelf implementation checklist.

This discovery work is where the real value of an ERP is decided. A system built on a clear, honest picture of your operations will pay for itself many times over. A system built on guesswork becomes an expensive source of frustration — no matter how capable the underlying platform.

Optimize first, then automate

There is an old warning in our field: automate a broken process and you simply get a faster broken process. Consulting-first means we look critically at your workflows before we encode them into software. Sometimes the right answer is to streamline or rethink a process entirely, so the system reinforces a better way of working rather than cementing an inefficient one. Optimizing the operational blueprint first is what turns an ERP from a digital filing cabinet into a genuine engine for growth.

An architecture, not a template

For the multi-entity groups we serve, this stage matters even more. The chart of accounts, the entity structure, the inter-company logic — these foundational decisions determine how well the system will serve the whole group for years. Getting them right requires understanding the business deeply first, then architecting deliberately. It is not work you can shortcut with a template.

Only once that blueprint is clear do we begin building. By then, the implementation is no longer a leap of faith; it is the disciplined execution of a plan grounded in your reality.

This approach asks a little more of everyone at the outset — conversations before configuration, questions before answers. But 25 years of implementations have taught us that the time invested here is the single biggest predictor of whether a project succeeds.

We don’t sell you software and hope it fits. We understand your business first — then we build.
